In order to ensure the highest degree of safety during fully automated underground operations, platforms will be operated from the tracks with a glass wall and automatic doors.
It is currently undecided what the new trains will look like. There will continue to be a driver’s cab as the trains will also be used, as required, on sections of Vienna’s underground network that have not yet been converted.
The people covering the platform walls, which will be integrated into all furnishings and information elements, will have a new design.
An added benefit here is that damaged panels can be replaced without any troubles.
